CT Tech
POSITION SUMMARY Performs patient examinations in specialized area, specifically CT scanning.
May perform duties as a staff technologist in Diagnostic X-Ray or other areas as required.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must produce images using CT scanner.
Must assist Radiologist in viewing and reconstructing images.
Must archive daily information into computer.
Must keep records of examinations performed.
Must provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety or patient.
Must observe and report general physical and mental condition of patients for signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
Must provide a clean and safe environment.
Supervises students as required.
Must provide monthly statistics as required, and contribute to QA and CQI.
Must perform other related duties as designated by the Director.
Must comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:
all departmental and functional policy and procedure, maintaining acceptable attendance records, arriving for duty punctually, and following dress code.
Must participate in performance improvement activities as requested.
Must assume information management responsibilities.
Must have knowledge and skills pertinent to the functional approach to patient care.
Must perform duties as an active member of the healthcare team.
Must demonstrate a knowledge of team dynamics and contribute to team building and skills related to participation in and strengthening of the multidisciplinary team approach to the delivery of patient care.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Must be able to work overtime and be available for call.
Must be able to work both weekdays and weekends as well as holidays as requested.
Is responsible for making independent and sound decisions in providing care including life threatening situations.
Uses independent judgement in setting priorities.
Must set priorities for self and others.
Must assess patient's needs and determine appropriate interventions.
Must be able to verbalize when tasks need to be delegated to other staff members.
Requires the ability to work independently and make sound judgements with minimal supervision.
Must exercise judgement in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to assure compliance with state, federal, and local requirements.
